What is Income4GOGOs?
In many instances, GOGOs are the sole source of income in the household as recipients of the Older Persons Grant. Income4GOGOs provide GOGOs with an opportunity to generate income for the household and develop their own economic strength.
Project Aim
This project aims to enhance the economic independence of GOGOs by providing them with skills and opportunities for income generation. Through training in sewing and blanket-making, GOGOs will learn valuable skills that enable them to produce and sell shopping totes and fleece blankets. This entrepreneurial activity will increase household income, improving access to essential necessities and supporting the education of the children in their care.
Current Projects
Bag Making
Reusable fabric shopping bags are being made in Alexandra by 3 GOGOs - Rose Vinqi, Anna Maruma and Yvonne Maruma.

Blanket Making
Double layer fleece blankets called “Chaka Chaka” blankets due to the tassels on the edges.
