Grandmothers are raising over 4 million children in South Africa.

— Senegalese proverb

Families and communities are being held together by older women or grandmothers, known as GOGOs. These GOGOs are uniquely placed to bring about change in vulnerable and marginalised communities.

OUR MISSION

We aim to enhance the capacity of GOGOs as agents of change to improve health outcomes, well-being, and life opportunities for themselves, the children they raise, and in turn, their communities

Through our work and partnerships, GOGOs can drive change across three key areas.

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

Antenatal care, feeding practices, play and stimulation.

PRE-ADOLESCENT YEARS

Substance abuse, sexual and reproductive health, mental health and gender-based violence.

GOGOs WELLNESS

Digital technology training, mental health, non-communicable diseases, and income generation.
